The State of ESG Disclosure: 2016
This past year we have seen unprecedented support for advancing the ESG disclosure agenda. The Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative has tripled in size, now with over 50 partner exchanges. At its mid-¬way point the SSE's Campaign to 'Close the Guidance Gap' has received 23 commitments from stock exchanges worldwide. The FSB launched a task force on disclosure. EU member states are in the process of implementing the non-¬financial reporting directive. SASB launched a full set of provisional standards for 79 industries in 10 sectors. The UN launched the Sustainable Development Goals, which provide a common framework for action and language that will help companies communicate more consistently with stakeholders about their impact and performance.
As such, the SSE initiative, together with the London Stock Exchanges Group, invite you to participate in a roundtable discussion on the major accomplishments over the past year and what actions are still required to further advance transparency across capital markets.
